So this past weekend was alot of fun. My friend Dan is a referee for a hockey program and he had two games over the weekend. One of the games was at U of I (University of Illinois) and the other game was at the Lindenwood ice arena in Wentzville, Missouri just outside of St. Louis. Anyway...he invited me along for the weekend and it was a blast. We left his house at about 10 am on Friday and it was a six hour drive from there to U of I. That game was a lot of fun. Watching the U of I students chant and make fun of the other team was hilarious. U of I ended up winning. From there we went to dinner and back to the hotel. We left the next morning for St. Louis. It was about a three hour drive from Champaign, Ill. to St. Louis. When we got there we drove around the city for a while and then headed to the arena. This game wasn't as exciting but Dan did get a puck shot at him by one of the players (haha). Luckily it missed him. After the game we drove for about three hours and stopped at a hotel for the night. The next morning we got up and headed on the seven hour drive home.
So basically, this weekend was a blast. Just like the other two trips i have taken with Dan. I always manage to have a great time with him.
-the joke for the weekend (which only Dan will probably get)..."how do you spell that", "A-I-R-P-O-R-T"-
HAHA that will never get old.

Updates..YAY
Ok..so it's been a while since i have updated this blog (almost 3 months actually). But now i actually have something to blog about. Just recently my friend Dan and I just opened our business, Modern Media Productions. Its a productions business meaning we do design and video work, and also photography. Check us out.
Outside of the business world and into my personal world.
My mom, brother, sister, and I have just recently moved. We have been living in our new house for a couple weeks now and are finally settled in. Its kind of small but its only a rental and a trasition house. Within the next 2 to 6 months will be moving again to a larger more permanent place.
Also on Sept. 6 i start my senior year of high school. This is kinda a bitter-sweet event seeing as its school (bitter) and its my last year and i wont be seeing many of those people again (bitter) but again, its my last year (sweet). I'm not like most seniors either. I deceieded to keep with some difficult classes so that i dont slack off. I came in to highschool strong, and i'm gonna go out strong. I do want to go to college after all.
Well, thats really alll for now...i will be trying to keep this updated more often, and with school starting it should be a little easier because i will have things to talk about. Until then...
adios

New Stuff
Well, it is pretty obvious that i haven't updated in a while (if anyone actually reads this). I thought it might be a good time to update seeing as there is actually something to update about.
Well...as it goes, school is almost out and we only have six days left, three of which are half days. Also..i have added a new piercing to my body. Finally, after a month or so of begging my mom, she allowed me and i did get my tounge pierced. You may think it's wierd but i am exceited about it and i love it so i could care less (haha...no offence to anyone).
Other than that there is really nothing else to say...so...i guess ill end this post.

Test Time
So, it seems that I havn't posted anything in a long time, but things have been sorta busy. It's that time of year again when you get slammed with tons of tests. During the next two weeks I'm gonna be taking the rest of the meep tests and then i get a little break for Easter, then after i get back from break I have to take my A.P. European test. Then finals come at the end of the year. Lets just say, this sucks.
The upside to all this testing is that it means that the end of the year is coming so that makes it a little easier to endure all the testing.

The Electronic World
I own a Apple iBook G4 and today my charger died because the head of it was tearingn off. I thought no big deal because the same thing had happened to my friend and he said that Apple had just replaced it because he had AppleCare on his stuff (as do I). Well i get to the store and the guy takes a look at it after I had explained everything to him and tells me that he can't replace it. he claimed it as abuse even after i explained what was wrong with it. Well I relearned the lesson of expensive electronics today because i had to shell out $83 to pay for a new charger which was absolutley rediculous but it was necessary if i wanted to continue using my computer.
I wish i wasn't such a damn techno geek. Then I wouldn't have to deal with this. =P

Fun Day
Yea, so today at work started off as a not-so-eventful day. We had the usual mass rush of kids for drop-in time at Pump It Up ( beck road, just north of 12 mile and 96 in the beck buisness center, Mondays 10-12, Tuesdays 4pm-6pm $6 per child over 2years....just my little advertisement =) ). Well, i happened to be working with Justin Willmann today and if you don't know, it's pretty fun. So yea, basically the picture above was pretty much our day at work after he showed up, just a bunch of goofing off and playing around. The kids enjoyed it too. But these are the little times that make going to work fun and that is what makes me love my job.Oh, and by the way, Justin's alter ego (refer to picture) is the Super Lysoler.....pretty lame =P

Creation
Ok..so i got this from my uncle.
On the first day, God created the dog and said: "Sit all day by the door of your house and bark at anyone who comes in or walks past. For this, I will give you a life span of twenty years."
The dog said: "That's a long time to be barking. How about only ten years and I'll give you back the other ten?"
So God agreed.
On the second day, God created the monkey and said: "Entertain people, do tricks, and make them laugh. For this, I'll give you a twenty-year life span."
The monkey said: "Monkey tricks for twenty years? That's a pretty long time to perform. How about I give you back ten like the Dog did?"
And God agreed.
On the third day, God created the cow and said: "You must go into the field with the farmer all day long and suffer under the sun, have calves and give milk to support the farmer's family. For this, I will give you a life span of sixty years."
The cow said: "That's kind of a tough life you want me to live for sixty years. How about twenty and I'll give back the other forty?"
And God agreed again.
On the fourth day, God created man and said: "Eat, sleep, play, marry and enjoy your life. For this, I'll give you twenty years."
But man said: "Only twenty years? Could you possibly give me my twenty, the forty the cow gave back, the ten the monkey gave back, and the ten the dog gave back; that makes eighty, okay?"
"Okay," said God, "You asked for it."
So that is why for our first twenty years we eat, sleep, play and enjoy ourselves. For the next forty years we slave in the sun to support our family. For the next ten years we do monkey tricks to entertain the grandchildren. And for the last ten years we sit on the front porch and bark at everyone.

Vector Phase
As you (my few readers =( ) may know i am a graphic designer. Well, I have entered a new phase of art design using vectors and vector based programs. I had done this a little in the past and wasn't too fond of it, but now that I've dug it all up again it happens to be one of my favorite digital styles. Basically, for those of you who don't know, vector art is one of the simplest art forms that can be done digitally (with the exception of typography). A vector image is made up of paths and lines. It is achieved by using the pen and pencil tool and takes a lot of time and patients. For example the piece accompaning this post was a total of around thirty individual paths and about 5 1/2 hours worth of work. So, if you are a designer like myself, or are wanting to get into this kind of stuff, i recommend trying vector art.

Valentine's Day
Ok, so it's that time of year again, Valentine's Day. A time to share with loved ones and to show various expressions of love. So, for those of you who are married, and those of you have a boyfriend/girlfriend, good for you I hope you enjoy this time. But what about those of us who do not have a husband or a wife, or a boyfriend or girlfriend. What about them. Well, to those of you who do not have someone like this in your life I say don't fret or worry or get upset because God has a very special plan for you and maybe that involves you being single right now and maybe finding someone later or maybe not. But remember, there is always someone out there who loves you more than anyone else on earth, and that is God. So, this Valentine's Day (today), don't be sad about being single and not having that special someone, spend this day with God and let him be your special someone, cause He is the one who will never leave in life or death.

So, for all of you who would be interested, then it would be much appreciated if you would take a look and email me or im me if I'm online or just post here and give me feedback and tell me what you think.

Social Darwinism
After discussions a couple days ago about Detroit in my friend Dion's blog and after a class of note taking in A.P. Euro today, i cam to thinking about Darwin, and Social Darwinism.
Have you ever wondered about the social class of our world and how you can apply Darwin's theory of our social class. For those of you who don't know, Darwin's main theory was "the survival of the fitest". He says that the socially lower class are poor because they are not fit to survive. But have you ever wondered of it is "us" that make them unfit to survive. There are so many things we could do to help them but we don't. We say we try, and we run charities, but most of the money from those charities goes to the government as opposed the cause they were directed to.
In, my opinion we are afraid to help them because we may have to compromise our position and compromise out social standing. We worry what other people may think instead of doing the noble thing. We are afraid of what people will think if we travel to the inner city or if we leave the country for a "stupid cause". I know I'm not perfect, and i know that i am guilty of this aswell, and i have decieded to try and find a away to help these people in a way that i am able.

a lot of bad, with a little good
so..this week is finals week at my school. honestly, these things suck and i'm really not in the mood to take them. there are a couple of them that will be a breeze such as my web design final and my german final, but i am really worried about my a.p. european history final and my trigonometry final. one thing i am looking forward to though, aside from finals being over and done with, is the new semester. this means that the year is half over and it a fresh start.
so, aside from the "bad" of finals, there is a little bit of "good" this week. see, on thursday january 12 i will be turning 17, and that makes me happy.
cheers,
